New rhythm game happily dances into Famitsu

Nintendo Wii Fanboy

The same new Famitsu that gave us Mega Man 9 details has also unveiled a new game from Namco Bandai. Tentatively titled Happy Dance Collection, the new game is a rhythm dancing game that uses Wiimote motions to simulate dance. From what we can tell, arrows appear on screen, and you follow them with the Wii Remote to score combos. Miis will integrate into the game in (at least) two ways: first, and most noticeably, the audience will contain Miis. Second, each player’s profile will be attached to a Mii.

Since this game looks so much like Namco Bandai’s hit Idolm@ster series and covers very similar subject matter, we’re a bit baffled as to why they didn’t brand it as an Idolm@ster spinoff game. Maybe by the time the final title is revealed, it will be.
